Longer wheelbase, shorter overall length, sharing a platform now with the great driving Fusion and Edge, oh and mated to that 380 lb-ft of torque producing 2.7L Ecoboost V6. Super High Output indeed! Yep, what a great successor to a great American nameplate. I’m sure glad they discontinued the Five Hundred once they realized how much great American heritage is built into the Taurus name. What a great American Sedan! Yep, when I think big American sedan I think of the all new great American Ford Taurus!!
* Brand new Taurus is for China only.

I’d like to see it offered here too. The last one just wasn’t for me since somehow the interior felt cramped even though it was a fairly large car. I blame the oversize center console for that as it rubbed on my right leg.

we all know they should have continued the Falcon in China instead.

Yeah, I’ve ridden in one owned by my buddy quite a bit, and that rediculous console eats up a ton of room. It’s not very roomy in there.
Even worse, is the Jag XJ. I attempted to sit in one last year. I say attempted because the doors are so thick and the center console so wide that there was not enough room for my hips. I couldn’t close the door!

Best part is, you get an amazing rear seat armrest. Who needs fullsize luxury cars when you have big Ford sedans?

Meh, the Lincoln Continental is better in every conceivable way.

Wait, wait, wait, hold the phone. The upper level car from their upper level brand is better? Why the hell would that be?

I’m sure it’ll see its way here. The Taurus need a refresh in a big way. It’s what 7 years old now?

Well the MkVI Taurus is supposed to end production this year, so maybe we’ll be seeing it sometime soon. Although if Ford were rolling out a new Taurus next year, I would’ve expected to hear about four years ago.
Maybe it doesn’t sell enough and they’re dropping it to focus on crossovers. But I don’t see why they wouldn’t just import the Chinese one since they already built it.

Big, but not THAT big.

The full size sedan market in this country is in such rapid decline it doesn’t make sense to invest in it. Plus, there’s the Taurus Police interceptor to consider; equipment manufacturers have just transitioned from making stuff for the CVPI to stuff for the D258 Taurus; they’re going to bristle at having to toss all of that out.

I know that the one in the US Continental controls rear heated seats, rear audio, and rear climate. It also has a screen like this.

It’s going to China, they probably didn’t even crash test it, since the Chinese don’t give a damn. Just a theory.

That’s a fair point.

Most departments are using the Explorer Interceptor. And I’ll bet many specialized cop parts are interchangeable between the Taurus and Explorer.

I mean, i’m not sure if you can trust it, but it was tested at the c-ncap labs.
